Hardware protection includes:
- Mac computer
- battery
- Supplied accessories (e.g. power supply)
- Apple memory
- AirPort
- USB SuperDrive
- Apple display that was purchased with the MacBook
The AppleCare Protection Plan can only be activated within the first year after purchasing the MacBook.
For the activation we need the serial number of the MacBook for which the activation is to be carried out.

- The AppleCare Protection Plan is automatically activated at Apple.
- The serial number of the Mac and the name of the owner are required for activation.
